11 Tips to Remove Milk - Based Stains
Milk is not only delicious but healthy. Even milk-based products are among the most favorite food of many people, especially kids.
But the problem is that this delicious and healthy food is also the culprit of stubborn dirt on your cloths.
Milk stain can be difficult to remove. But at least this stain is possible to remove. Here are the eleven tips you can do to quickly remove any milk stain and still enjoy your favorite food:
1. Make an effective cleaning solution especially for removing milk stain. A good variety needs these materials: few drops of warm water, detergent, and toothbrush.
Just mix the detergent with some drops of warm water. Make a mixture that is only enough to remove the amount of milk stain in your cloth.
Scrub the stain with a toothbrush. If not, use your fingers to remove the stain.
Wash the cloth using a washing machine.
2. Every cloth has a specific laundering and caring needs. Follow that carefully or you might destroy your favorite cloth.
3. Don’t let the milk dry up on the cloth. Remove the stain as early as possible.
4. For already dried milk stains, soak the stained cloth in cool water for at least 30 minutes before washing it. Doing this will help loosening the milk stain. Fresh milk stain will only need about five minutes soaking in water before the cloth is washed.
5. Use a stain pretreatment for the cloth before washing it. This tip is ideal if the milk stain is greasy. You will find more difficulty removing that kind of stain if you don’t do a pretreatment. Let that pretreatment sit on the cloth for about five minutes but never let that solution dry on the cloth or it will destroy the garment.
6. Scrape off the crusty old milk stains with a dull knife.
7. Blot the milk stain first before you rub or scrub the stain away.
8. Use cool water when removing milk stain since this works better on milk. Rinsing with cool water is also ideal.
9. Another alternative to washing a milk-stained cloth is by sponging it with cool water. You can also use a small amount of mild detergent for more effective stain removing.
10. A diluted alcohol in two parts of water is also a good alternative to remove milk stain. Just use the solution directly on the milk stain.
Remember that it is always better to remove the milk stain as early as possible. An old milk stain will be more difficult and almost impossible to remove.
If you cannot remedy the milk stain on your cloth, better try to call a professional cloth cleaner. They have better solutions, equipment, and skills to remove the milk stains more effectively.
