The Fastest and Effective Way to Remove Putty
Published on Friday, 23 October 2009

Putty is a real hassle. You can't easily remove it like dusts or other dirt on the carpet. You really need to spend some time to effectively remove this. But by using a good chemical dissolver, your problem will be solved in no time. Just make sure that you follow the required steps.

1.     Scrape off all the putty you can. Spoon or knife is the safest thing you can trust to do this.
2.     Test any chemical on a small portion of the carpet before applying it on the putty area. This way, you can avoid having discoloration on the carpet and immediately change the solution that will perfectly fit for your carpet.
3.     General-purpose detergent can already do a good job of removing a putty. But you are free to use other products, too.
4.     When applying the product, make sure to only blot it. Brushing or rubbing will just worsen your problem and you don't want this to happen.
5.     Leave the stand on the treated area for about 10 to 20 minutes. Scrape off more putty after the waiting period.
6.     Finally, when the putty is gone, you can start removing the solution applied unto the carpet. A simple rubbing of clear water or rubbing alcohol will do the magic.
7.     Dry the carpet and follow by vacuuming the treated area.

The above process will only consume 30 minutes of your time. So if you don't want to spend another 30 minutes removing the putty, make sure to teach your kids where they can only play and how to clean the area after playing.
