Taking Care of Your Lawn
Published on Monday, 19 October 2009
For many home owners, their lawn is a source of pride and joy for them - many people even judge people by the way their lawn looks and the way it is maintained. So if you want your home to look great, then taking care of your lawn is one of the first order of business. The easiest way (probably the laziest too) is by simply picking up dead leaves. But it is better to take it a step further by raking the dead leaves, which in turn will reveal weeds, which you should take out and uproot, as they compete with your grass for nutrients from the soil. Of you have a particularly stubborn type of weed, then you might want to consider buying a safe herbicide that won't damage any of your other plants besides the weeds. Mowing the lawn is also another important task, which should be done after you're done with the raking and weeding. You should also consider using fertilizer for your plants - there is compost, which is organic, and other chemical fertilizers. Between the two, compost is better, due to its organic nature. But be sure that you don't put in too much, because too much fertilizer at a time can prove to have harmful effects on your plants.
