One of the most essential tasks in any move is the packing process. This is probably one of the most drawn out tasks, requiring a lot of time and effort on your part. However, with the right steps, you can make everything become more efficient and organized, which in turn makes you move as a whole easier and less stressful for you.

You need to begin by discarding everything you will not need at your new home. As time passes, we tend to accumulate a lot of junk and unused items which would be better off left behind. Don't immediately chuck them into the trash bin though - try selling them in a garage sale first (the useful and presentable ones, at least) and / or give them away to charity.

Making an inventory will help you keep track of your belongings better. It is also best if your packing was room-based, meaning all the things from a single room fill the corresponding packages or boxes and are not mixed in with things from another room.

Also make sure that there is a respectable allowance between the weight of your things in the box from the weight limit of the box itself. Be sure as well to consider using different box sizes to better accommodate your other things.
