Do You Need Cleaning Help?
Key to Pet Stain and Odor Removal
Published on Friday, 25 September 2009

Pet stains and odor can really be pesky. Pet stains ruin your beautiful carpets and the odor is just terrible. Nevertheless, using strong carpet cleaners and stain removers should not be your automatic solution.

Using strong carpet cleaning solutions could only damage the carpet and discolor it. Such cleaning liquids could also contain harmful ingredients. That is why using them are avoided as much as possible.

You can certainly avoid using them if you attend to pet stains and odors right away. The trick is to blot out the stain using white paper towels. Rubbing the pet stains would only spread the stain and even ruin the carpet.

If stains still remain, you can use a mixture of warm water and vinegar. You simply have to spray on the stain and let it dry. This would usually neutralize the stain so much so that it will be unnoticeable. Alternatively you can also use seltzer or club soda for stains.

On the other hand, you can use baking soda to get rid of the urine. Simply sprinkle some of the baking soda on the spot where pet urine has dried up. Let it stay there until the odor is absorbed. Then finish up by vacuuming it off the carpet. You not only have a clean carpet but a fresh smelling one as well.
