How to Battle Wall Crayon Marks
Published on Thursday, 28 January 2010
Do you have little kids who love to turn the walls to a great canvass? If so, then you must be agonizing on how to remove those sticky crayons on the wall. The supermarket offers varieties of cleaning products that can remove these stains but if you want cheaper removers, here are some suggested materials that you can use:
You will need an absorbent cloth or paper and iron. Place the paper over the markings and iron the surface of the paper until the crayon is lifted from the wall. You can also use a hair dryer in place of flat iron. Both work by melting the crayon marking and lifting it to the absorbent cloth or paper. The lighter fluid is also an effective remover. Wet a clean cloth with lighter fluid and rub it to the wall. But to be sure that this will not damage the wall finish, try rubbing it to a hidden area of the wall. Also, make sure that the area is not above the stove or any hot surface. Then wipe the cleaned surface with damp cloth.Baking soda paste also can effectively remove crayon markings. This will need some rubbing though. Wipe the wall with damp cloth after the markings are removed.
These household items are your weapons against the crayon markings. And next time, consider buying water based coloring materials instead!
