Besides carpet, your upholstery is among the most expensive investment in your house. Of course, you don't want this big investment to be easily ruined by stains. Fortunately, cleaning tips for stains on upholstery are just easy. Some of these can even be prepared in your own pantry.
 
Here are some common upholstery stains and the best solution for each of them:
 
1.      Mould. This is perhaps one of the most stubborn stains that your upholstery will have. But there's a tough solution for that. Just combine ¼ hydrogen peroxide with a quarter teaspoon of color-safe bleach. Gently rub the solutions on the mould using a clean cotton cloth. Wash the solution with warm water and leave the upholstery to dry.
 
2.      Coffee. Combine water, vinegar, and dish detergent. Gently put the solution on the coffee stain. Let the solution dry on the stain and wash after some minutes with tap water. If this solution won't work, you can try to use dry-cleaning solvent.
 
3.      Crayon mark. You can't prevent this stain especially if you have your kids that are so curious about crayons. Use non-gel toothpaste if your upholstery is safe for water-based cleaning. Then, wipe the toothpaste out with a damp cloth.
 
If this won't work, you can try another solution. Combine one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to a half-cup of warm water. Rub this solution using a cloth and rinse with a damp cotton cloth.
 
With these homemade solutions, you don't need to spend a lot for cleaning agents that may only damage your beautiful upholstery.
