Getting Rid Of Oil Paint Stains from Carpets
Published on Sunday, 24 January 2010
No matter how careful you are, there will always be instances wherein oil paint can spill over the carpet. This is especially true if you work with oil paints in a regular basis. However, this instance does not mean your carpet is doomed forever. You can perform these steps to take them off your carpet: · Using a paper towel, the moment there is a spill; blot the stain as much as possible until the towel cannot absorb anything more. · Get clean and dry rags, preferably white. Apply some turpentine or paint thinner to the rag and blot it to the stain. Do this process repeatedly until there is no more stain in the carpet. Or, if you don't want to use these chemicals, you can rather get flour and brush it to the carpet's fiber. Let the flour sit there for a few hours so it can absorb the stain. · If you use thinner or turpentine, expect that there will be some odor left. To get rid of this, you can apply some baking soda to that area and leave it there for about an hour. Vacuum it afterwards and it may be necessary for you to use some spray-on odor neutralizer to eliminate the odor completely. Truly, it is easy to get rid of oil paint from your carpet. Therefore, as early as you notice the spill, get up and perform these tasks right at hand.
