Throughout our lives we accumulate a lot of useless things. For whatever reason, we keep them and store them - some with sentimental value, some we intend to use one day; there are a lot of reasons why we hold on to these things and why they eventually end up slowing us down.   One thing you can do is to look at your things and assess which are outright trash. It might have seemed something useful or valuable then, but if it isn't now, then it shouldn't be in your home. You might have even bought something else to replace it without realizing you had something akin to an older, less useful version at home. The same goes for broken stuff. If you don't see yourself bringing it somewhere to get fixed, then it's something you should discard. Try to establish a classification based on the usefulness or usability of your items and things.   One very useful and practical thing you can do is to put up a garage sale. Sell all the things you don't need before throwing them in the trash. This way, you make can make your trash into money. If anything's left over, see what you can donate, and only then contemplate throwing these things in the garbage bin.
