Cleaning the House in Winter
Published on Sunday, 16 August 2009
During winter people spend most of their time at home. So, as the temperature gets colder you need to heat up by doing some cleaning tasks at home.
Check your chimneys to know if they need cleaning, and if they do, call for the help of professional chimney sweep and not simply do the job yourself because it is a very risky task. Apart from your chimney, your furnaces should also be checked up by professionals. Ask them to clean your filters and vacuum your vents, too.
More so, if you live in the area where snow fall is hard, make sure that your snow blowers are working and are properly maintained and cleaned of course.
Another part of the house that requires cleaning in winter is the pantry. So, see to it that you have thrown everything unnecessary in your pantry and always keep trash cans within reach.
Lastly, other stuff that requires cleaning during winter are your mattresses, computers, and your junk drawers. These home appliances should be cleaned at least twice a year to maintain their quality. For mattresses, regular cleaning will keep them from growth of bacteria and presence of allergens and harmful elements.
