Cleaning Spills from Leather Upholstery
Published on Saturday, 15 August 2009

Having leather upholstery, like a leather sofa, or a more luxurious leather lazy boy recliner may be classy and elegant pieces of furniture to have, but taking care of them is also important. Leather furniture and upholstery are very expensive, and you don't want to waste hard earned money by allowing your leather stuff to get ruined.   The most common accidents that happen in leather lazy boy recliners and other leather upholstery are spills. The good thing about leather is that it is resistant to most spills if they are treated immediately. It is recommended to immediately dry the wet area and then apply leather cleaner - there are many available in your local hardware store - until the surface is clean. DO NOT use household cleaners as the leather material is sure to be damaged from it. Use leather cleaners only. With more harsh spills like ink, there are also specialty leather cleaners designed to clean up these sorts of mess. Do not gamble away your leather furniture by using other solutions that will probably make everything worse.   Lastly, always remember to regularly clean your leather furniture and upholstery (every four or six weeks or so) so that it lasts longer.
