Holidays usually mean having gatherings and parties. That is why it also usually means cleaning up for the occasion. And then it also means cleaning up after the festivities.
 
Preparing for the Festivities
 
You normally clean the house to make it presentable. If would be nice to have a great view by the window. What you can do is wipe your windows with a solution of a half cup of alcohol and a quart of water. Alternatively you can use glycerin to be able to see frosts by your window during the holiday festivities.
 
Of course, you would also need to clean your knickknacks. This can be a tedious job but there's a trick to make this easier. All you have to do is gather every single one of them on the kitchen sink and simply spray them with window cleaning solution. After which, you can simply put them on top a paper towel to dry.
 
Cleaning Up During and After
 
If possible, you should blot out spillage right away. You can mix a tablespoon of detergent and a half cup of warm water or white vinegar. Use one paper towel to dab the stain and another to blot out spills.
 
Candlesticks also need to be cleaned. What you can do is freeze the candlesticks for an hour or so then simply remove the wax. If wax goes into the tablecloth, rub ice on it while it is still warm. When it hardens, just use a spatula to remove it.
 
If the wax already hardened, you can put paper towel on top and underneath the tablecloth and iron it to remove the wax. After that you can use liquid detergent to remove remaining residue and put it on the washing machine right away.
