Be Smart in Reducing Your Waste
Published on Saturday, 08 August 2009

Tons of trash are collected and disposed off every year. In the United States alone, there are at least 4 pounds of waste getting dumped every day. This shouldn't be the case, and you know that. So, to make a huge change out of small things, be smart in reducing your waste by doing the following:   1.      Buy fresh fruits instead of packed products. Fresh produce is not just healthy but environmentally friendly. In most cases, you can also save money since food like grains, cereals, and vegetables are cheaper than products placed in cans and plastics. 2.      Use grocery bags that are reusable so that whenever you go shopping or in the market, you don't collect plastic bags that will be thrown after use. 3.      Products in huge containers are waste-efficient so buy bulky products like soaps and detergents. 4.      If possible, buy products that are made of recyclable materials or packaging or packaging that can be recycled. 5.      Instead of using paper towels and napkins, use washable rags and other used clothes. 6.      Though it may sound a lot of trouble, create your own compost pile for your kitchen scraps and other biodegradable waste products. This can serve as your fertilizer, too.   If you follow these simple tips in reducing your waste, you help making this earth a good place to live in.
